Matara is the new platform by which global defense demands are connected to innovative defense technology and startup collaboration in Israel.
Matara, a new entity in the defense technology industry in Israel, has been introduced to help bridge global defense entities to state-of-the-art Israeli technology. An idea of Gil Devora, Asaf Tamir and retired army ranks Major General (Ret.) Prof. Isaac Ben-Israel and Brig. General (Ret.) Doron Tamir, the company focuses on integrating both the skills of operating in the defense field and the skills of venture building.
Matara follows a distinctive business concept known as reverse innovation, pinpointing in-field problems within the defense-related institutions and then searching for or creating specialized solutions to their predicament within the highly thriving Israeli startup community. This model makes Matara a vibrant connection between the strategic defense requirements and the capability of Israel to develop defense technology.
The oft-repeated call of the defense budget uptick all around the world in Germany and Japan, AI, cybersecurity, and robotics are among the deep-tech domains where Israel gains more influence. The way in which commercial innovation can be used to support changing security and intelligence missions is reinforced by the introduction of Matara.
Asaf Tamir, one of the co-founders, focused on how the industry has changed in light of the increased readiness by militaries to utilize technologies originally developed with civilians in mind. Its relationship-based strategy will propel partnerships and pilot programs that redefine global defense technology innovation.
Focusing on the combination of the agility of startups and accuracy of operations, Matara gives Israel advantages as the global power in developing the defense technology and in the cross-border security cooperation.
