The first event was titled Equitable Partnerships and the Future of AI in Africa and organized along with the University of Lagos International Week.

The EdTech initiative is aimed at creating inclusive learning domains where AI benefits may be achieved and enjoyed by a wide array of communities. Lubanzadio noted that conformation in defining the AI future of Africa can be achieved through collaboration, and he received the assistance of Professors Babatundew Sawyerr and Ismail Ibraheem.

Simultaneously, OpenAI also launched ChatGPT Go, its less expensive GPT-5-based tier of subscription, to make AI technologies more accessible in Africa. All of this is a significant move towards the global EdTech initiative of OpenAI, whereby education and technology are integrated to empower the next generation of innovators.
