Abu Dhabi hosts the Faith Summit meant to address climate change

Religious leaders across the globe are gathering at Abu Dhabi for a meeting on the crisis of climate change ahead of the COP18 climate summit taking place in Dubai.

Ahead of the COP28 meeting in Dubai next month, faith leaders from all around the world are gathering in Abu Dhabi for a worldwide summit on climate action.

The summit, which intends to debate the moral obligations of religious leaders in tackling the climate catastrophe, was organized by the Muslim Council of Elders in cooperation with the United Nations Environment Programme, the Holy See, and the COP28 Presidency.

Prominent personalities from the world's major religion traditions will also talk about how faith and science may work together, how to give religious leaders more visibility, and how to involve local communities and common people in the pursuit of sustainable development.

Scholars, activists, and environmental specialists will be there, together with youth, women, and indigenous community representatives.

Climate change campaigners will be making calls to action at the Summit, which is scheduled for November 6-7. There will also be debates on faith and sustainability and faith for planetary resurrection.

Along with inspiring humanity to promote climate justice, summit attendees are anticipated to release a united faith declaration on climate action. The declaration aims to leverage the combined influence of religious representatives, communities, and institutions.
