Despite their decreasing prevalence in Western men's attire, cuff links remain a status symbol in the Middle East, providing men in the United Arab Emirates with flair.
Although cuff links are becoming less common in Western men's clothing, they are a status symbol in the Middle East, giving men in the United Arab Emirates and other surrounding Arab countries a customized touch to their traditional gown-like outer garment. Ultimately, the links receive greater attention than they would with a Western suit since they are placed on the sleeves of the thawb (pronounced "thobe"), also known as the kandoora or the dishdasha.
The jewelry has grown to be a significant product for a company established in 2009 by five immigrants from various nations in a bustling area of the Dubai Gold Souk.
The company has been around for 14 years, and during that time it has expanded from making only necklaces to additional items, such as jewelry for men. It currently has 19 cuff-link designs available, all crafted in sterling silver by its 35 full-time workers in the souk located in the Deira district, often known as Old Dubai.
According to Junaid ur Rehman, a co-founder of Necklaces by Samaa, more people than just the Arab residents of the area were purchasing cuff links for themselves. More affordable versions are frequently given to guests as keepsakes. They have become attractive gifts to impress customers or to signify the conclusion of business deals.
