Art X on Glass AG – Celebrating Uniqueness with Hand-Painted Glass Creations that Awaken Emotions, Tell Stories, and Transform Spaces

Glass, in its raw form, is transparent, fragile, and unassuming. Yet, in the hands of true visionaries, it becomes something extraordinary, an expression of emotion, light, and life itself. Every curve, every stroke of color, every shimmering reflection tells a story of passion, friendship, hope, or even despair. Art X on Glass AG captures these unspoken emotions and translates them into one-of-a-kind masterpieces that do more than decorate spaces, they transform them.

At Art X on Glass AG, each creation is more than art on glass; it is an experience. Crafted with meticulous care and hand-painted by skilled artists, no two pieces are ever the same. The company’s philosophy is rooted in the belief that individuality should be celebrated—just as no two people are alike, no two artworks are alike. This devotion to uniqueness, emotion, and craftsmanship has turned Art X on Glass into a brand that resonates deeply with collectors, interior designers, and art enthusiasts across borders.

Behind this artistic movement is Miriam Schnyder, the visionary founder, whose love for glass and passion for sharing beauty gave birth to the company. While Art X on Glass is a community of artists united by courage, color, and creativity, Miriam stands at its heart, ensuring that every work reflects not only artistic mastery but also a gift of joy, inspiration, and humanity.

Miriam Schnyder, founder and CEO of Art X on Glass AG, spoke exclusively with CIO Bulletin, sharing vivid insights into how she and her team transform glass into more than mere art: they craft experiences that illuminate spaces and stir the soul. Each piece weaves a unique story, a singular masterpiece that resonates with passion and hope.

Interview Highlights

Can you share the inspiration and journey behind founding Art X on Glass AG, and how your vision to transform glass into emotive art came to life?

Art X on Glass AG has not only a financial goal, but also one big dream – to create a safe place where children with autism can spend their free time after preschool or school, without their parents being afraid of what they are doing.

Art X on Glass is not only a company; it is a vision. We want to encourage people to have their kitchen backsplashes or shower walls painted with colors. People spend so much money going on vacations or buying presents, but often forget that they can bring a piece of art into their homes. Every artwork we create is handmade, unique, and timeless. They are painted with acrylic paints or acrylic sprays.

Your creations are described as unique, hand-painted glass art pieces that embody emotions like love, passion, and hope. Could you elaborate on the range of products and services you offer, and what sets them apart in the world of art and design?

The borders of art and design sometimes merge. Could design be a kind of art? Yes. Our art is design, and we are producing amazingly beautiful glass walls, which can be used in a kitchen, a bathroom, a living room, an office, or the reception of a hotel, etc. Our glass plates are used as parts of tables.

Our motto is: “Design is thinking made visual.”

How does Art X on Glass AG infuse emotions into each piece of glass art, and what processes or philosophies guide your artists to create these one-of-a-kind works?

Our artists can paint what they want. I see Art X on Glass as a bridge between nations. We are artists from several countries, and I hope we will have more. Every culture has a different perception of life. It is very interesting to see what people draw, how they feel, what they feel, and what they think.

Your art enhances spaces like bathrooms, kitchens, and living rooms. Can you share specific examples of how your glass art transforms these environments into unique experiences for your clients?

Glass was long regarded as a purely functional material in interior design. We at Art X on Glass break with this image and establish glass as an artistic medium that combines craftsmanship, technology, and aesthetics. Our vision is: Glass surfaces should not only be part of architecture; they should tell a story, awaken emotions, and shape spaces with an individual signature. We try to move away from mass production toward individual choices.

How does Art X on Glass AG balance the demands of sustainable practices with the creation of high-quality, handcrafted glass art pieces?

Every one of our artworks is handmade. It means that the piece of glass will be produced, transported to our atelier, and then we draw on this glass. We use acrylic colors without using water, as glass is not able to absorb water.

Are there any exciting new projects, collections, or partnerships in the pipeline that your clients and audience should know about, and how do these align with your mission to create unique, emotive art?

At the end of August, we will have an event with our sister company – SCHNYDER Glasworld GmbH – in Bürgerstock, Switzerland. It is an amazingly beautiful location overlooking Lake Lucerne. Here we will present many customized paintings – presents for our best clients – as a way to say “Thank you for your faith in us.”

In November 2025, we are happy to be a part of the Tokyo Art International Fair in Japan.

In January 2026, we will take part in Swissbau in Basel – the biggest exhibition of interior design in Switzerland.

And of course, we are also making paintings that everybody can buy in our online shop (www.artxonglass.com).

As a company featured in "Leading Companies to Watch 2025," what are your long-term goals, and how do you plan to further elevate the role of glass art in interior design and beyond?

It is an honor for us to be featured in “Leading Companies to Watch 2025.” I thank you for this possibility. We have some long-term goals, and one of them is that everybody should have a piece of Art X on Glass in their home. Why? Art X on Glass is a recognition of my own performance. We offer products for everyone: women, men, children, and businesspeople. Art X on Glass can be displayed as artwork that you put on the wall, or integrated as glass in kitchens, bathrooms, or as partition walls.

Miriam Schnyder, Founder, Owner, and CEO | In Her Own Words

I am the founder, owner, and CEO of this small company. With my vision, I support people who are not afraid to break away from the general definition of art and design. We are drawing on glass from the opposite side – through reverse glass painting. We encourage people to choose colors for their glass walls in kitchens or bathrooms. We want to teach artists not to be afraid to fail. Many famous artists I asked to create paintings for us said no. Why? With us, we are “doing” reverse glass painting, which means that before we start painting, we need to reverse the picture in our mind. This method is a big challenge. Not every famous artist wants to risk his/her fame on such a challenge. Why? Many people believe that only artworks of famous artists are good. Art X on Glass is bringing a new method to an ancient medium.

Glass is more than 5000 years old and belongs to the oldest materials in the history of humanity. We do not care if the person creating the painting on glass is famous or not. For us, what matters is that the client likes the painting. We are not hunters of brands. We offer the possibility of creating paintings for everyone.

“Art X on Glass belongs in every home. Our creations are for everyone—women, men, children, and business leaders alike. Whether displayed as timeless artwork on the wall or integrated into kitchens, bathrooms, or partition walls, each piece carries the power to transform ordinary spaces into extraordinary experiences.”
