Women’s health has long been underserved, especially in the stages of midlife when significant physical and emotional transitions occur. For decades, menopause has remained cloaked in silence, shame, and misinformation, leaving millions of women to navigate this natural phase largely on their own. Breaking this barrier requires vision, determination, and an unwavering belief that women deserve better. At the forefront of this movement is Jannine Versi, a leader whose career bridges healthcare, technology, and public service, and who now channels her expertise into transforming how women experience midlife health.
Jannine Versi’s journey is as diverse as it is impactful. With formative roles at Google, in the Obama Administration, and on the founding team of Cityblock Health, she has consistently focused on leveraging innovation to solve systemic challenges. Her path also includes early work with Valera Health and recognition as a Fulbright Scholar and Blavatnik Fellow at Harvard Business School. Today, as Co-founder and CEO of Elektra Health, Versi applies this wealth of experience to a personal and pressing mission: redefining care for women navigating menopause.
Elektra Health is a movement to smash the menopause taboo. Versi’s vision centers on creating an ecosystem where women feel empowered, informed, and supported through one of life’s most transformative phases. Under her leadership, Elektra has emerged as a pioneer, blending compassionate care with technology, education, and community in ways that reimagine what women’s healthcare can be.
Reimagining Care for Midlife Women
Menopause affects nearly 50 million women in the United States alone, yet it remains one of the most misunderstood and under-supported health transitions. Elektra Health confronts this challenge head-on, combining board-certified medical expertise with telemedicine, personalized coaching, and a robust community platform. Every woman accessing Elektra is met with a holistic experience designed to address physical symptoms, mental health considerations, and lifestyle adjustments.
The company’s philosophy is simple yet revolutionary: menopause is not a limitation, but a chapter ripe with potential. By offering evidence-based care alongside ongoing education and community connection, Elektra helps women reclaim control over their health and their lives. The organization’s programs focus on fostering confidence, reducing stigma, and providing a roadmap for thriving through this natural transition.
Telemedicine Care That Puts Women First
Elektra Health’s clinical model combines modern telemedicine with a deeply personal approach. Women begin their journey with a 30-minute video consultation with a board-certified clinician who develops a personalized care plan. This plan may include prescriptions, lab work, and follow-up visits, ensuring every patient receives care tailored to her unique needs. Beyond clinical support, Elektra members gain access to a suite of resources including educational content, virtual events, and one-on-one support from certified Elektra Coaches.
What sets Elektra apart is the continuity of care. Women do not simply receive a consultation and move on; they become part of a community and a program that supports long-term health and empowerment. This structure addresses a glaring gap: while women spend nearly half their lives in a menopausal state, there is only one menopause specialist for every 20,000 U.S. women aged 35–64, and a majority of women who seek care do not receive treatment. Elektra’s model ensures that no woman faces menopause alone.
Education and Community as Core Pillars
Knowledge and support are just as essential as medical treatment. Elektra Health prioritizes education through evidence-based readings, member-only virtual events, and personalized wellness guidance. Every member is paired with a dedicated coach who provides individualized support and guidance, helping women navigate both symptoms and lifestyle changes.
The community element is equally transformative. Women connect with peers facing similar experiences, creating a network of shared understanding and encouragement. By normalizing conversations around menopause and midlife health, Elektra fosters resilience and confidence, reinforcing that women are not defined by this transition but empowered by it.
A Strategic Approach for Health Plans
Elektra Health also extends its impact beyond individual members, partnering with forward-thinking health plans to provide inclusive and equitable care across a woman’s life. By improving health outcomes and reducing costs associated with unmanaged menopause, the company positions itself as a crucial ally in systemic healthcare innovation. Research shows that women with a clinical menopause diagnosis incur 45% more healthcare costs annually, with outpatient and clinical services driving significant expenses. Elektra’s comprehensive care helps mitigate these challenges while enhancing the patient experience.
Shaping the Future of Women’s Health
Under Jannine Versi’s leadership, Elektra Health is redefining what it means to support women through midlife. The company’s approach is not only clinically sound but deeply human addressing the physical, emotional, and social dimensions of menopause with care, dignity, and empowerment. Elektra demonstrates that innovation in healthcare is not limited to technology; it also requires empathy, insight, and a willingness to challenge longstanding taboos.
As the conversation around women’s health continues to evolve, Elektra stands out as a beacon of progress. Its mission resonates far beyond medical care, inspiring a cultural shift in how society views menopause and midlife wellness. Women who engage with Elektra do more than manage symptoms; they gain clarity, confidence, and the tools to thrive.
Elektra Health’s story is ultimately about leadership, courage, and transformation. It reflects the power of women leaders like Jannine Versi to not only shape companies but to redefine industries, dismantle stigmas, and create lasting societal change. By combining innovation, compassion, and expertise, Elektra is building a future where women navigate midlife with strength, knowledge, and community, proving that the menopause journey can be bold, fearless, and transformative.
