Interview Highlights
Q. Can you share the story behind the inception of Maximage Data Systems? What inspired the founding of the company?
Maximage Data Systems' purpose is to enable the human side of businesses to be as productive as possible. Our set of products and tools enables our customers to spend less time on activities that are not part of their core business, such as validating, digitizing, creating, or managing documents, and to invest that time in growth and profitability, in whatever form that may take for them.
The company was founded over 25 years ago to assist other companies in undergoing their own digital transformation. At that time, the digital era was in its infancy, and a key need in the industry was to transition from paper operations to fully digital ones.
The company's mission holds true today. Maximage® aims to be a global business partner to companies undergoing their digital transformation. Today, we empower our customers by providing powerful, secure, and cost-effective solutions in digitization, information management, and identity validation, among others.
Q. With over 25 years of experience, how has the company's mission and vision evolved, and what are the core values that drive your current success?
At its core, our mission has remained the same: to enable the human aspect of our customers and help them become more efficient by taking over their document management needs. What has changed dramatically over the last 25 years has been the technology we deploy to realize our mission.
Maximage® invests in the development of technology that offers friendlier, more secure, and more reliable solutions to our customers. To stay ahead of the competition, the company has also widened its portfolio to cover a broad range of document validation, including KYC trends and data analysis.
Q. How does your strong OCR and ICR technology contribute to the efficiency of document management? What makes your technology superior?
Our time in the market has enabled us to test, try, and continuously evolve the technology used for both OCR and ICR. Moreover, the evolution of our technologies ensures their effectiveness, accuracy, and precision in ever-changing business environments and processes. Both OCR and ICR are critical to the document management process since they enable businesses to interpret and utilize their data. Furthermore, a robust OCR guarantees higher data quality by reducing human intervention. Lastly, our OCR technology allows for more precise, secure, and seamless identity validation.
Additionally, our technology is easy to train and deploy, both features translating into a shorter go-live time, thus making the ROI visible in a shorter time period.
Q. SOFIIA® is one of your flagship products. Can you explain its primary features and how it stands out in the market?
SOFIIA stands for Software for Intelligent Image Analysis®. As described in the product’s name, the software helps our customers read images more “intelligently”. A key feature of SOFIIA Software for Intelligent Image Analysis® is its ability to detect the orientation of the image it’s reading, which increases the overall accuracy of the read. The orientation feature is a market differentiator since most images in an identity validation process are not perfectly positioned when the user uploads the picture. SOFIIA’s value proposition is to deliver an overall friendlier, simpler, more accurate, and more secure process.
Furthermore, SOFIIA Software for Intelligent Image Analysis® can extract data from any part of the image, making it easy to deploy, update, and train based on our customers’ specific needs. SOFIIA Software for Intelligent Image Analysis® can also be paired with MAXIMAGE AIIDARA®, which is the content manager in which all documents are stored. This feature is helpful as it reduces the mistakes SOFIIA Software for Intelligent Image Analysis® could make and allows for software retraining if needed, without the need for sophisticated or tech-savvy implementation.
Q. Can you describe the integration process of your Document Quality Management (DQM) software with existing client systems? How do you ensure a seamless transition?
Our products utilize REST APIs to integrate with other software. Compliance with market standards guarantees a seamless integration and transition process. Our customers typically integrate our solutions with existing CRMs, manufacturing platforms, validation platforms, signature platforms, sales software, import/export platforms, and more. If a project requires an integration process, Maximage® is also able to provide integration support to ensure effectiveness.
Q. Given the increasing concerns over data security, how does Maximage Data Systems ensure the security and privacy of its clients' documents?
Information and document security are among our core values. To deliver on our business proposition, we are certified with ISO 27001:2022 information security international standards and ISO 27701:2019 data privacy international standards. Both certifications apply not only to our platforms but also to our entire business model, processes, functional areas, and personnel.
Q. Can you share some real-world examples or case studies where your solutions significantly improved a client’s document management process?
We have several identity validation solutions that have achieved over a 90% reduction in manual data entry. By minimizing manual entry, sales processes become easier and quicker to complete. The time saved translates into more sales per day, fewer queues, and a friendlier document validation process.
Our objective is to decrease the time required during an identity validation process before an installation or sale occurs. By combining SOFIIA (SOFTWARE FOR INTELLIGENT IMAGE ANALYSIS®), MAXIMAGE ID RECOGNITION®, and MAXIMAGE AIIDARA®, we can ensure that our customers' files are validated, created with the correct information, and easily managed for post-sales processes.
Q. What are the key strategic goals for Maximage Data Systems in the next five years? Are there specific milestones you aim to achieve?
We are investing in developing new complementary technology to enhance and maintain our identity validation products' position at the forefront of the market. We are also investing in making our solutions even more flexible, which will enable us to serve new industries such as logistics and manufacturing. Our goal is to ensure that our solutions are always powerful, cost-effective, convenient, and secure for digitization and document management, regardless of the industry in which our clients operate.
