In today’s complex digital economy, technology alone won’t drive lasting change. At Peloton Consulting Group, we believe real transformation starts with people — working together, aligned around a common purpose, supported by thoughtful process, and empowered by the right technology. That’s the foundation of The Peloton Way. Peloton Consulting Group stands out as a partner that provides a proven path to success through their proprietary Breakaway Methodology.
Peloton was founded by Guy F. Daniello with a mission to help organizations navigate the digital landscape by unlocking the power of information and analytics through strategic alignment. At Peloton, true business transformation begins with people, then optimizes processes, and finally leverages technology. Peloton’s philosophy is that technology alone doesn't drive transformation; people do. Their client-centered approach ensures that businesses experience sustainable, impactful change rather than adopting temporary solutions. It’s about building trust, sharing accountability, and creating momentum that carries teams forward together.
What makes Peloton different is their unwavering focus on client success, team collaboration, and continuous innovation. The company takes a holistic view of each client's unique challenges, working collaboratively to improve internal processes and strengthen organizational connections. With Peloton, businesses don't just survive change, they thrive through it, gaining confidence in their data, making fact-based decisions, and achieving a sustainable competitive edge. Their Breakaway Methodology and Business Adoption Models are focused on the principle that incremental change drives measurable value and strong user engagement from day one. Peloton's success lies in the strength of their people and the lasting partnerships they build with clients, creating a culture of empowerment, ownership, and continuous growth.
We at CIO Bulletin had the distinct honor of interviewing Guy F. Daniello, Founder and CEO as well as Matthew Conner, Chief Customer Officer from Peloton Consulting Group. They shared powerful insights on how Peloton helps businesses achieve true transformation: start with empathy, move with purpose, and deliver real results.
Interview Highlights
Guy, every great company has an original story. What inspired the founding of Peloton Consulting Group, and was there a defining moment in its early days that set the course for its growth and success?
My journey has always been guided by a deep passion for helping organizations harness the power of technology to solve complex business problems. While working with leading management and IT services firms, I discovered a fundamental truth: success wasn't solely dependent on the technology itself. It was about how well people, processes, and technology worked together in harmony.
That insight became the impetus for founding Peloton Consulting Group. I wanted to build a company that brought an entrepreneurial mindset to exploring new technologies and business concepts while finding the balance between innovation and practical implementation. The name “Peloton” perfectly captured our philosophy — a group moving forward together, creating momentum, and energy that propels everyone further than they could go alone.
The defining moment came early on when we took on a complex Oracle implementation for a manufacturing client who had previously experienced two failed attempts with larger consulting firms. Rather than approaching it as a pure technology project, we embedded ourselves within their organization, taking time to truly understand their business challenges. We prioritized customer needs above all else, knowing that meaningful transformation must begin with deep business understanding and empathy. Our team approached the challenge with positivity and energy, demonstrating our "fire bullets, then cannonballs" philosophy of testing ideas before making major investments.
When we successfully delivered that transformation, saving the client millions while dramatically improving their operational capabilities, it validated our approach of aligning people, processes, and technology through The Peloton Way. We were successful because of thoughtful, incremental improvement rather than disruptive change. That project became our blueprint for a methodical, step-by-step approach to transformation that minimizes disruption while maximizing sustainable value.
From those humble beginnings in Boston, we've grown into a truly global firm with offices across North America, Latin America, India, and Europe, continuously refining our delivery model by eliminating inefficiencies and fostering a positive, solution-oriented mindset at every level of the organization.
The name “Peloton” means “a group moving forward together.” How does this philosophy shape your leadership approach, especially during challenging times?
Surround yourself with great people, give them the freedom to make decisions, and great things will happen. This belief has guided every step of my journey and reflects our core philosophy: collective success over individual achievement.
A peloton, in cycling, is a team moving in formation, sharing the wind, pacing each other, staying connected. That’s how I lead and how we operate. We believe in empowering people to lead from wherever they sit. Titles don’t drive impact; ownership does. We believe in empowering people to make decisions based on our core principles:
Whether you're in Boston, Hyderabad, or São Paulo, we operate as one team. That unity became even more important during the pandemic. We broke down silos, formed global squads, and solved real-time client problems with speed and empathy. That’s the kind of collaboration we believe in cross-functional, inclusive, and always focused on delivering value.
Matthew, what core services does Peloton Consulting Group offer to help businesses navigate their digital transformation journey?
At Peloton, we deliver comprehensive digital transformation by leveraging advanced cloud-based solutions across our core capability areas: Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Supply Chain Management (SCM), Human Capital Management (HCM), Customer Experience (CX), Analytics, Data Management, Integrations, and Cloud Infrastructure. By connecting people, processes, and technology through The Peloton Way, we help organizations move further, faster. That's our signature approach.
We help companies align their strategy, operations, and technology so they can thrive in the digital-first world. We continuously explore new ideas, eliminate inefficiencies, and balance innovation with practical implementation to deliver sustainable, measurable change. Our comprehensive services align into three interconnected categories:
Whether we are helping a client plan their transformation, implement Oracle Cloud, or optimize systems post-launch, our goal is always the same: create lasting value. And we do it by building deep partnerships, bringing in the right expertise, and working in small, smart steps that build confidence and momentum.
With digital transformation being a crowded space, what is Peloton Consulting Group's "north star" that sets it apart from other consulting firms?
Simple — our people and our clients. Every decision we make answers one question: Does this create meaningful, measurable value for our clients and our team?
Our partners and customers often say, "Peloton Consulting Group is big enough to matter, small enough to care."
What truly sets Peloton apart is our balance of innovation and collaboration in driving digital transformation. Clients value The Peloton Way, which is rooted in respect, transparency, and accountability. Our passionate experts bring honesty, empathy, and teamwork to every engagement, helping reduce the stress and uncertainty of organizational change while driving meaningful, lasting results.
Our proprietary Breakaway Methodology accelerates time-to-value and ensures strong end-user adoption by systematically aligning people, processes, and technology. Complementing this, our Business Adoption Models (BAMs) drive quality outcomes by integrating end-user needs and workflows into technical design from the beginning. We implement change in incremental, manageable steps to support sustainable transformation with minimal business disruption.
We approach problems with optimism and curiosity, viewing every challenge as an opportunity to improve and innovate. This mindset fosters continuous innovation, allowing the best ideas to emerge organically. This client-first culture and solution-oriented problem-solving ethos are why we continue to have a high satisfaction rate and have become a trusted transformation partner to leading organizations worldwide.
Peloton Consulting Group emphasizes connectivity, diversity, and inclusion. How do these values shape your company culture and approach to collaboration — both internally and with clients?
Peloton is built on the power of connection. We prioritize building strong, lasting relationships with our clients, by helping them modernize operations through integrated cloud-based applications and analytics. With our teams, we foster a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and mutual respect.
Our culture is rooted in the fundamental belief that diverse perspectives and backgrounds lead to better outcomes and more innovative solutions. We actively empower team members to share their unique viewpoints, challenge conventional thinking, and communicate ideas clearly and constructively. This openness drives innovation and ensures everyone feels genuinely heard, valued, and empowered to contribute.
We actively seek and respect different perspectives, understanding that meaningful progress often comes from small, consistent contributions and collaborative effort. Through comprehensive mentorship programs that pair consultants across different backgrounds, experience levels, and specialties, we create lasting connections and facilitate knowledge sharing across our entire global organization.
For clients, we intentionally build teams with diverse professional experiences, cultural backgrounds, and thinking styles. These multidimensional teams deliver innovative solutions by approaching complex problems from varied angles, helping eliminate inefficiencies and optimize business processes through fresh perspectives and creative problem-solving.
This commitment also drives our global strategy and expansion. With offices in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, São Paulo, Hyderabad, and London, we operate as a unified team that respects and actively leverages local expertise and cultural insights. We invest significantly in local talent to better understand regional business needs, regulatory requirements, and market dynamics, seeing cultural differences as valuable growth opportunities rather than obstacles to overcome.
The result is a truly collaborative, respectful environment where people feel empowered to contribute authentically and grow professionally. Our high employee retention and engagement rates reflect the strength of our inclusive culture — directly translating into deeper, more trusted client relationships and more effective, enduring transformations.
Looking ahead, what are the biggest trends shaping digital transformation, and how is Peloton Consulting Group positioning themselves as a leader in this space?
We see two major shifts fundamentally reshaping digital transformation that present incredible opportunities for organizations willing to embrace the future. The first is the integration of artificial intelligence directly into core business applications, which has the potential to revolutionize how organizations operate across every industry. We’re seeing the emergence of AI-powered demand forecasting and inventory optimization that could automatically adjust purchasing and pricing strategies based on real-time market signals and consumer behavior analytics for retail organizations. Financial services have the opportunity to deploy AI-driven risk assessment models that continuously analyze portfolios and regulatory compliance, while automated fraud detection could process transactions with unprecedented speed and accuracy. Manufacturing companies could leverage AI-enabled production planning that optimizes supply chains and predicts equipment maintenance needs, while consumer packaged goods organizations have the potential to utilize AI for dynamic pricing optimization and automated trade promotion management. What excites us at Peloton is the opportunity to help clients navigate these AI-native transformations in ways that could deliver immediate operational advantages while building sustainable competitive differentiation.
The second major shift is the emergence of specialized AI agents that could handle complex business processes autonomously across every department. We’re witnessing the potential for AI agents to fundamentally transform how business operates. Finance teams could deploy agents that autonomously process invoices, generate predictive cash flow forecasts, and provide real-time variance analysis, enabling finance professionals to evolve into strategic business advisors rather than transaction processors. HR organizations have the opportunity to leverage AI agents for intelligent candidate matching, automated performance reviews, and predictive workforce planning that could significantly reduce turnover costs. Operations teams could utilize AI agents that optimize supply chain logistics, automate procurement workflows, and provide predictive maintenance alerts that prevent disruptions before they impact productivity. Marketing departments could deploy AI agents that analyze customer journeys for real-time personalization, optimize spend allocation, and provide automated lead nurturing that has the potential to dramatically improve conversion rates while reducing acquisition costs. Peloton’s positioning as a leader comes from our vision of how to orchestrate these AI-powered transformations while helping organizations capture the full strategic value of autonomous intelligence across their entire business ecosystem.
Peloton is strategically positioning ourselves at the intersection of these trends with a thoughtful, methodical approach. We’re exploring emerging technologies while implementing change in manageable, incremental steps that minimize risk and maximize adoption. We're systematically deepening our industry expertise in retail, consumer packaged goods, financial services, manufacturing, and professional services, developing specialized methodologies and accelerators for sector-specific challenges and opportunities.
Our positive, proactive mindset is key as we enhance AI capabilities and integration, helping clients navigate both the technical and organizational aspects of intelligent automation responsibly. We focus on leveraging AI to enhance Oracle Cloud Applications, delivering predictive insights, streamlined processes, and improved decision-making capabilities while ensuring human capability is enhanced, not replaced.
We’re deeply committed to identifying and eliminating inefficiencies before, during, and after digital transformation initiatives. This focus on operational excellence complements our technical expertise, ensuring new technologies deliver maximum business value through optimized systems, streamlined workflows, and improved user experiences.
The consulting industry is evolving from project-based implementation to long-term strategic partnership models. By aligning our investments with these emerging trends and staying true to our core values of customer focus, employee empowerment, and maintaining a positive approach to problem-solving, we remain at the forefront of digital transformation innovation. We’re positioned to help clients not only respond to change effectively but leverage it strategically for sustainable competitive advantage.
True to The Peloton Way, we connect people, processes, and technology across our global operations, steadily improving how business transformation is conceived, delivered, and sustained for long-term value creation.
As a company that thrives on innovation, what are some forward-thinking initiatives or bold projects Peloton Consulting Group is working on for 2025 and beyond?
At Peloton Consulting Group, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer experiences through innovative and collaborative approaches to digital transformation. As we look ahead to 2025 and beyond, we’re excited about several strategic initiatives that reflect our entrepreneurial mindset and unwavering commitment to continuous improvement and value creation.
As we help our customers continuously innovate, we continuously innovate ourselves, enhancing our proprietary methodologies to ensure that we accelerate delivery timelines and minimize implementation risk. Through incremental and systematic implementation of these enhancements, we enable clients to adapt organically and realize measurable benefits throughout their transformation journey.
These evolved methodologies drive user adoption, ensure sustainable results, and proactively mitigate risks across the entire digital transformation lifecycle. Our latest innovations focus specifically on accelerated delivery and risk reduction, transforming traditional challenges into opportunities while systematically eliminating inefficiencies from implementation processes.
In Latin America, our "Futuro Fiscal" initiative is evolving into a comprehensive regulatory compliance platform that addresses the region’s complex tax and regulatory environment. By combining our deep expertise in the region’s fiscal landscape with advanced Oracle Cloud capabilities, we help organizations navigate rapidly changing regulations with confidence and compliance. This initiative exemplifies how our global presence, anchored by our dedicated team in São Paulo, enables us to create specialized solutions for regional challenges. We prioritize understanding the unique needs of our Latin American clients to develop targeted, effective regulatory solutions.
We're also reimagining managed services through our innovative Continuous Value Optimization approach. Through our comprehensive global delivery capabilities spanning North America, Brazil, India, and Europe, we offer 24/7 support and optimization services that help clients continuously adapt and enhance their cloud platforms to meet evolving business needs. We proactively explore industry best practices and encourage team members at all levels to identify improvement opportunities, ensuring our service model grows in value and impact over time.
Looking forward, we’re leading innovation in AI integration across Oracle’s Cloud Fusion applications, helping customers AI-enable their EPM, ERP, SCM, and HCM systems to create intelligent, autonomous enterprise capabilities. Our expertise lies in developing AI agents that automate complex business processes across the entire enterprise—from predictive financial planning and autonomous supply chain optimization to intelligent talent management and real-time operational insights. By continuously aligning with Oracle’s cloud innovation road map, we’re positioning ourselves as the premier Oracle partner that transforms traditional business applications into AI-native platforms, enabling our clients to achieve unprecedented levels of operational excellence and competitive advantage through cutting-edge autonomous enterprise solutions.
These initiatives reflect our fundamental belief that innovation must deliver tangible, measurable outcomes for our clients. By focusing on practical solutions to real business challenges and embracing continuous enhancement, we're helping clients transform more effectively and realize greater sustainable value from their technology investments.
