Marvel Unleashes ‘Doomquest,’ a Time-Bending Epic That Redefines Doctor Doom

Marvel Comics is set to deliver a major moment in comic storytelling this May with Doomquest, a ten-issue maxi-series that places Doctor Doom at the center of a sweeping, time-spanning adventure. Designed as a standalone story, the series offers both longtime fans and new readers a complete and accessible look into the mind of one of entertainment’s most complex villains.

Written by Ryan North, known for his recent work on Fantastic Four and One World Under Doom, and illustrated by acclaimed artist Francesco Mobili, Doomquest explores what happens when Victor Von Doom decides history itself is not enough. When his longtime rival Reed Richards reveals a plan to travel through time and “fix” humanity’s past, Doom sees it as both an insult and a threat. Determined to act first, he launches a mission that spirals into battles across time and space.

The story blends high-stakes action with deep character exploration, presenting Doom as a brilliant scientist, powerful sorcerer, and proud ruler of Latveria, driven by ego, vision, and a hunger for legacy. According to Ryan North, the series shows “Doom at his absolute Doomiest,” allowing the creative team to push the character in bold and imaginative ways.
