According to reports, Spotify is currently working on a new feature that will enable users to have access to an automatically created playlist in offline mode.
The popular music app Spotify has a new feature in the works. According to the CEO of Spotify, Daniel Ek, the streaming music platform has been working on a new feature called “Your Offline Mix”. The new feature is set to offer users the ability to continue listening to music even when they have a low connection or are in airplane mode.
In a tweet, Daniel Ek shared screenshots with his followers, showing them details about the new feature, including information on how long each playlist can be. According to him, the offline playlist can be as long as three hours.
While the pre-existing offline mode or playlist gives users the same ability to listen to music without an internet connection or during airplane mode, it does require users to download each song or podcast individually in order to listen to them during offline mode. The new feature, which will most likely be available for premium Spotify users, will automatically generate a playlist based on recently played songs and create a playlist to listen to offline.
There has been no announcement or inclination towards a release date; however, based on the CEO’s tweet about the new feature and other official teasers, the new feature should be made available soon. Spotify offers multiple premium options to choose from, whether it’s a premium plan for one individual, a family of two, or a larger premium plan for a family of six. The premium Spotify plans come with ad-free music listening, group sessions, as well as the ability to listen to music offline.
