Microsoft further strengthens its partnership with Anthropic and NVIDIA towards faster innovation of AI and scalability of their AI in the cloud.
Microsoft has proclaimed an effective increase in its strategic alliances with Anthropics and NVIDIA, bolstering its position in advanced AI and cloud computing. Anthropic will deploy its fast-growing Claude AI models on Microsoft Azure, which is driven by state-of-the-art infrastructure at NVIDIA, which allows customers of the enterprise customers to have a broader selection of the models and more capabilities.
Under the deal, Anthropic has an obligation to buy 30 billion Azure compute and acquire up to a gigawatt of new capacity. This is one of the biggest commitments to the Microsoft cloud ever made.
NVIDIA and Anthropic have established a new engineering alliance to collaboratively design customized AI performance in future NVIDIA architectures. Anthropic will first use NVIDIA Grace Blackwell and Vera Rubin systems to satisfy its massive scaling requirements.
Simultaneously, Microsoft is going to expand Claire access throughout its ecosystem. The Microsoft Foundry customers will receive access to frontier Claude models; thus, Claude will be the only frontier model offered on three major cloud platforms. Moreover, Claude will remain the power behind GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Copilot Studio.
NVIDIA and Microsoft intend to invest up to $10 billion and $5 billion, respectively, to speed up the growth of the Anthropic Company, which indicates the mutual intentions of the two companies to develop AI for the next generation.
