Skill moves are special actions like Nutmegs, Flick Ups, Fake Shots etc. Every player in FC 26 has a skill move rating. This rating ranges from 1 to 5 stars and determines the complexity of skills a player can perform, with each individual skill move also having its own required star rating. A skill move rating of 1 is the most basic, while 5 unlocks the ability to perform all tricks.
There are a lot of skill moves in FC 26 and you do not have to learn each and every one of them. In this guide, we will explore the best skill moves to master along with how to perform them and when to use them. These skill moves are even more effective when you have the right players, and to get these players for the best prices and cheap coins, u7buy.com is a reliable option many players use.

Here are eight skill moves that every player should master. The trick is knowing how and when to use them properly, which I will cover with each skill move.
The Ball Roll is one of the most basic and very reliable skill moves in FC 26; it is a 2-star skill move. Think of it as a foundation for a good attacking player. With Ball Roll, you can slightly move the ball to the side, which helps you protect possession and adjust the angles. A simple yet extremely effective skill move that every player must master.
To perform a Ball Roll, hold RS right or left.
Use Ball Roll during light pressure and before making a pass or shot. It's good for opening lanes, improving angles and resisting the pressure.
Flair Nutmeg is a 4-star skill move that focuses more on passing and creating angles rather than dribbling. It helps you quickly shift the ball sideways and open up new passing lanes even under pressure.
To perform a Flair Nutmeg, hold L1 + R1 or LB + RB then flick RS.
The Flair Nutmeg is best used when a defender is closing by and blocking your passing options. What's special about this skill move is you can also pass during the animation, which makes it a very strong skill move for attacking play and breaking defenses.
Next on the list of best FC 26 skill moves is the Open Up Fake Shot. It is a simple 1-star skill move but definitely one of the effective ones. With Open Up Fake Shot, you can create spaces without much complication, making it a beginner-friendly skill move.
To perform an Open Up Fake Shot, hold L1 + Square, then tap X and move LS to top-left or top-right or hold LB + X, then tap A and move LS to top-left or top-right.
Open Up Fake Shot is something you want to use against AI defending because it works exceptionally well.
Ball Roll Scoop Turn is an advanced skill move, but it's definitely easy to perform as long as you practice. To perform a Ball Roll Scoop Turn, you will need a 5-star skill move rating. With this, you combine a Ball Roll with a quick scoop to break the defense.
To perform a Ball Roll Scoop Turn, start with a Ball Roll and during the animation, perform a fake shot while moving LS slightly to the side.
Ball Roll Scoop Turn is effective in many situations but it is one of the most effective ones to use in a 1v1 dribbling situation.
Next up is the Heel-to-Ball Roll, a smooth and effective 4-star skill move to slightly change your direction while also maintaining speed. With this, you can get around defenders who are directly blocking you from the front.
To perform a Heel-to-Ball Roll, hold L1 or LB and flick RS up then down.
Like mentioned, it works best when you're running towards a goal and want to get around a defender but also not lose momentum. This helps you protect the ball while also allowing you to sprint after executing the move.
The Lateral Heel-to-Heel requires a player with a 3-star skill move rating. With this, you can make a sudden stop and cut, often causing the defenders to miss or overshoot.
To perform a Lateral Heel-to-Heel, hold L1 or LB then flick RS from left to right or right to left or up to down or down to up depending on the side you're facing on the pitch.
Lateral Heel-to-Heel works best when a defender is running next to you. With this skill move, you can cut inside from the wing and create chances to pass or shoot. You do lose some speed when performing a Lateral Heel-to-Heel, that's why having a defender on the side moving forward gives you the space to continue the attack.
Elastico Variation is a 5-star skill move for slow and controlled dribbling situations. With this, you can create smooth directional changes while keeping the ball close.
To perform an Elastico Variation, hold L2 or LT and perform a half circle with RS, i.e., right-back-left or left-back-right. The direction of the half circle controls the exit.
The Elastico Variation works best while jogging with a defender nearby. It is effective in central areas and inside the box to create space for passing or shooting. This is an advanced skill move that requires timing and patience. Keep in mind, it cannot be performed at full sprint.
Last but not least, we have a special skill: Controlled Sprint. This isn't your typical skill move, but it's one of the best skills in EA FC 26. Normally, when you sprint with the ball, you push it forward while running. With Controlled Sprint, you move at about 50% speed, keep the ball close and maintain full control.
To perform Controlled Sprint, hold R1 or RB and move LS in your desired direction.
Controlled Sprint lets you exploit defensive gaps without flashy moves, making it essential to master if you want to create more chances.
Make sure to start practicing these skill moves today, master them fully and watch yourself beat defenders, score more goals and dominate the pitch.
