Marriott Promotes Sustainable Global Events

New initiative empowers meeting planners to integrate sustainability into events at Marriott properties globally.

Marriott International has launched its innovative initiative, Connect Responsibly with Marriott Bonvoy Events, aimed at helping meeting planners incorporate sustainability into their events. Set to be rolled out globally by the end of October, this program addresses the rising demand for environmentally responsible event planning. It allows customers to assess their events' environmental impact and invest in carbon credits.

One key feature of the program is the Meeting Impact Report, which provides a detailed analysis of the carbon and water footprints of events held at participating Marriott properties. This tool, available in 11 languages, enables event organizers to make informed decisions to minimize their environmental impact.

In collaboration with South Pole, a climate consultancy, Marriott offers customers the option to purchase verified carbon offsets, contributing to global sustainability projects.

This initiative positions Marriott at the forefront of the travel industry's sustainability movement, responding to the growing preference for eco-friendly event spaces. As more travelers and businesses prioritize sustainability, other hospitality companies may be inspired to adopt similar practices.

By providing comprehensive sustainability reporting and facilitating carbon offset purchases; Marriott supports its ongoing commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
