The newest product of Graphana Labs, prompted by AI, is Database Observability, making database management easier and troubleshooting faster and more actionable than before, resulting in full-span system differentiability.
Grafana Labs introduced some significant updates to its observability platform at the ObservabilityCON 2025, with the focus on being smarter, faster, and more accessible in terms of its database management. The new Database Observability feature offers query-level visibility, AI-powered optimization, and rich diagnostics that allow engineers to figure out root causes in a shorter time using AI and not just DBAs.
Grafana Cloud Knowledge Graph can currently integrate metrics, logs, traces, and database signals into a unified map, making it easier to manage databases across applications, infrastructure and software in the cloud. Actionable insights that are generated by AI can help engineers oversee performance, query analysis and problem-solve inefficiencies.
According to Alexandre Mango, senior manager at Pismo, the solution marks a major step towards an improvement in the database management. It simplifies complex data into logical dashboards that provide engineering teams with autonomy and scale data investigations and optimized database operations.
Other recent changes are the Grafana Cloud Service Center, providing a service-focused perspective of system health, and support of OpenTelemetry and Prometheus to enable enterprise observability. With these enhancements, teams have control over databases along with management of the other components of the system for a better, more reliable, and minimum downtime and better response to incidents.
Database management is now proactive rather than reactive, with AI recommendations ruling the optimization of queries and root cause analysis. Companies that switch to the recommended use of Grafana can have a quicker MTTR, streamlined operations, and more proactive DBA participation.
Database Observability is under public preview and will be coming to availability in the following weeks so that teams could have smooth management of their databases, operational visibility, and end-to-end observability.
