Bringing timeless New York luxury and bespoke butler service to Queenstown, New Zealand
Marriott International, Inc. has made public its new deal with PHC Queenstown Limited to grow its St. Regis Hotels & Resorts collection which consists of premium luxury hotels. The property will begin welcoming guests in late 2027 with its customized luxury experiences which follow Marriott's core principles. The resplendent hotel seeks to draw visitors from all parts of the world to one of the most sought-after destinations in New Zealand. The property will have 145 rooms which would provide guests with views of both The Remarkables Mountain range and Lake Wakatipu. With this development, Marriott advances its goal of establishing a presence in Queenstown’s luxury hotel market. The St. Regis brand started at its first location on 5th Avenue in New York City in 1904. The brand now operates more than 65 exclusive luxury hotels around the world. It provides the acclaimed St. Regis Butler Service which delivers exceptional service through its precise attention to detail. The Butler Service provides four primary services, including packing and unpacking, garment pressing, customized in-room beverages, and personalized wake-up services.
The Queensland St. Regis Hotel which Marriott operates in Australia marks the third signing for the brand in Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific (ANZP) region. The hotel is expected to feature all the hallmarks of the brand. Guests can enjoy the offerings of a sophisticated bar and satiate their taste buds with dining offerings such as The Drawing Room. A rejuvenating spa experience at the St. Regis Spa would offer a relaxation and wellness lounge apart from a dedicated hydrothermal facilities zone. Guests can also take part in physical exercise by availing the hotel’s indoor heated pool and fitness centre facilities.
Marriott’s choice of Queensland is a strategic move given the more than two million tourists who visit annually. Richard Crawford, Vice President – Hotel Development, ANZP, Marriott International, highlights the brand’s motive of being known as Queensland’s finest hotel and contributing to the region’s popularity as a must-visit destination. PHC’s Managing Director Prakash Pandey echoes this sentiment, “During the construction phase, we will deliver significant investment directly into the Queenstown economy, and in the longer term be a critical employer within the community.”
