In Coimbatore PSG-GRD Museum of Science and Technology launches its doors to showcase interactive displays on energy space and mobility as a way to fuel innovative thinking.

The PSG-GRD Museum of Science and Technology officially opened its doors at the PSG iTech Campus in Neelambur for the purpose of engaging students in science exploration and attracting talent toward manufacturing careers. The 30,000 square foot facility opened by Roshni Nadar Malhotra as HCL Tech Chairperson came with state-of-the-art features under the name of G.R. Damodaran in honor of his educational accomplishments.

The museum serves as a global-standard facility dedicated to Science and Technology while providing three interactive spaces on energy use and automobiles and celestial bodies. The facility functions as an innovative center dedicated to both creation and experiential learning activities. L. Gopalakrishnan who holds the position as Managing Trustee at PSG and Sons’ Charities stressed how the museum contributes to scientific talent development.

The establishment of this project required an initial ₹18 crore allocation from PSG and Sons' Charities followed by a separate contribution of equal value from alumni members. Shiv Nadar put forward a symbolic ₹5 crore donation for the museum project as an HCL founder and PSU alumni member.

The museum's expected transformation of Science and Technology education depends on its Mobility Gallery along with its Space and Astronomy Gallery and other main features. The CEO of HCL Tech C. Vijayakumar delivered his insights about how this facility can spark future innovation. The announcement of establishing a Planetarium along with a second phase of development was made.
