TAG Heuer Launches New Custom OS Smartwatch Gadget

TAG Heuer presents the Connected Calibre E5, a luxury smartwatch that operates on a custom OS and is compatible with iPhones, offering improved performance and premium features.

TAG Heuer has released their new Connected Calibre E5 smartwatch, which uses their own operating system that can easily interoperate with iPhone instead of Google Wear OS. The new device will be an in-house designed device, enjoy a smooth, fluent interface, and yet it will still have Android at the core to enhance functionality.

The Calibre E5 will fill the long-standing weaknesses that Wear OS on iPhones has had, such as only being able to take limited notifications and limited voice-calling. The device qualifies to be part of Apple Made for iPhones and will provide seamless connectivity to the owners of the iPhone.

The smartwatch is the brainchild of Qualcomm, but with the Snapdragon Wear 5100 Plus chip, this product will be available in 40 mm and 45 mm versions, supported by new algorithms that are more efficient. TAG Heuer boasts a two-day battery life in the device, as it has functions such as the always-on display. Extensions of this luxury gadget are special editions such as the New Balance edition and golf editions, among others.

The 40mm model starts at 1,600 and the 45mm starts at 1,700, with premium models costing up to 2,400 by choice of materials and finishes. TAG Heuer also points out that the Calibre E5 is not merely some smartwatch but an expensive piece that integrates style, technology, and cross-platform functions.

This release is an attempt by TAG Heuer to position its smartwatches uniquely in the luxury wearables category, where alternative uses are provided by the Apple Watch clientele who would need an upscale, compatible device.
