Saudi Arabia is expediting the development of luxury tourism to open its depots to visitors across the world in the run-up to the FIFA World Cup in 2034.
Saudi Arabia is becoming more serious with its use of travel and tourism development because the nation is planning to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup. By confirming that the kingdom already fulfills the FIFA accommodation requirements, the tourism minister, Ahmed Al-Khateeb, took a giant stride in reinforcing the global travel and tourism positioning of the kingdom.
The government is undertaking initiatives that would boost the tourists' experience by focusing on luxury hotels, cultural tourist spots, and beach resorts. One of the key areas in the travel and tourism plan is the Red Sea Global plan, which will see the opening of 17 new hotels by May 2025. The project goes in line with the economic diversification plan in the vision 2030, which aims at lowering dependency on oil and making the kingdom a global tourist destination.
Although we are experiencing an influx of international focus, Saudi Arabia is focusing on traveling and tourism within its country. The new resorts located at the coasts will consist of peaceful beaches, wellness retreats, and eco-friendly luxury experiences for local and foreign tourists.
Despite the fact that cross-border tourism investments like the Ras Gamila project in Egypt have been under consideration, Saudi Arabia has decided to ensure that it has been established with the domestic travel and tourism studies before venturing to the global realm.
Saudi Arabia is already poising itself as one of the future leaders in luxury travel and tourism long after 2034, with the significant projects and preparations in place regarding a global sporting event.
