Boer & Croon Expands Advisory Capabilities

The acquisition of an Amsterdam-based performance improvement company reinforces Dutch consultancy on the focus of execution.

Dutch-based firm Boer & Croon has purchased Accelerant Consulting, and this strengthens its European management consulting market besides adding execution-oriented advisory services. The acquisition will introduce 25 consultants and associates into the consultancy practice of Boer and Croon, which has been combining its interim management and executive search services with.

Accelerant Consulting is an operational excellence, performance enhancement, and change management company, but it was started by ex-senior leaders of Celerant Consulting. It is anticipated to help Boer & Croon improve its capabilities in providing an end-to-end management consulting service, both in formulation strategy and implementation.

The company CEO Jaap Heeringa of Boer & Croon said the sale enhances the propositions of the firm to the chief operating officers, attributing Accelerant's success to execution-based transformations. He included that the merger gives it a larger size, more industry knowledge, and the ability to undertake international transformation programs in the management consulting arena.

Boer & Croon was established in 1973 and has approximately 220 professionals and is considered to be one of the most successful advisory firms in the Netherlands. The managing partners of Accelerant, Marc Hermsen and Vivek Chaturvedi, claimed that the partnership does not change the client-centric nature of Accelerant but does expand the company in terms of capabilities and reach.

The deal coincides with larger trends of consolidation in the management consulting industry, as companies broaden services and look to meet the increasing customer demand of quantifiable and implementation-oriented services. Boer & Croon belongs to EPSA Group, based in France, consisting of over 3,500 employees in different parts of the world.
