Jammu & Kashmir LG is advocating Nano Technology in flood prediction, pollution control and sustainable solutions at the NBL-2025 conference.
The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha has urged more attention towards Nano Technology in order to solve climate change issues and come up with advanced disaster management technologies. In an address at the opening of the international conference, Nanotechnology for Better Living (NBL-2025) at the University of Kashmir, he challenged scientists to develop Himalayan soil sensors based on Nano Technology to forecast landslides and flash floods.
Sinha pointed out that in nano-materials, innovation could also ease chemical manufacturing pollution and contribute toward the creation of early warning systems to save lives. He made it clear that Nano Technology is emerging as a game-changer in industries and healthcare sectors as well as in sectors of defense production.
The five-day conference, which was organized in collaboration with both the University of Kashmir and IIT Hyderabad, saw some of the best researchers pooling together to discuss the innovations that Nano Technology makes to sustainable development. Another thing that Sinha emphasized was the need to reward talent in the sector and make technological gains accessible to the common people.
Experts believe that the next generation breakthrough in nanoscale transistors, nanoparticles, and nano-additives will be critical in the energy, agriculture, and environmental remedies.
