The new BYD Atto 2, a compact electric SUV will make its European debut, with a 312 km range and advanced features, which make it an affordable, efficient solution.
Set to debut in European showrooms next month, the automaker's smallest electric SUV yet for Western markets is the 2025 BYD Atto 2. The success round of Atto 3 is followed by this new addition to BYD’s growing electric vehicle (EV) portfolio and its entry is considered a big step in the company’s mission to make its automobiles available across the globe.
The Atto 2, which is marketed as the Yuan Up in China, is to be followed by its sibling in Australia but it is still unclear if it will bear the Atto 2 or the Atto 3 Up moniker here. The launch of the vehicle has been confirmed by Green NCAP testing that gives details regarding the energy footprint and range of this vehicle. It states that the Atto 2 will have a 42.4kWh battery that promises 312 km of range on a European WLTP standard, which is lower than that of the Atto 3's ranges of 345 km to 420 km, but still competitive in the compact segment of EVs.
The Atto 2 is smaller and lighter than the Atto 3, measuring 4310mm in length and having a weight of 1590kg. It has a more conventional design, with a 12.8-inch infotainment screen, leather-look upholstery, and a panoramic sunroof. Prices are to be lower than those of the Atto 3, which starts from $44,499 and tops out at $47,499 in Australia.
Through Atto 2, BYD secures its position in the international automobile market even more with affordable, small EVs targeted at the environmentally conscious consumer.
