Siemens’ zero-trust platform promises secure, flexible, and simplified operational technology networking for industrial operators amid rising cyber threats.
Siemens has launched SINEC Secure Connect, a zero-trust security platform designed to safeguard operational technology (OT) networks while streamlining network management. The platform will debut at the it-sa Expo&Congress 2025 IT Security Fair in Nuremberg, signaling Siemens’ push to address the evolving challenges of industrial cybersecurity.
The software virtualizes networking structures using overlay networks, enabling secure Machine-to-Machine, Machine-to-Cloud, and Machine-to-Datacenter connections, as well as remote access to industrial systems—without relying on traditional VPNs. Shop floor devices remain protected from unauthorized access while maintaining critical operational connectivity, allowing industrial operators to implement future-proof, flexible OT networking. SINEC Secure Connect will be available on the Siemens Xcelerator marketplace.
The platform employs granular, policy-based controls to prevent lateral movement and ensure end-to-end encrypted, identity-verified connections between authorized devices. Its flexible deployment options such as on-premises, cloud, or hybrid—support high-availability environments while reducing administrative complexity. Integration with Siemens’ SCALANCE portfolio allows companies to protect legacy devices, optimize capital expenditure, and enforce IEC 62443 cybersecurity standards efficiently.
As the global OT security market is projected to exceed $50 billion by 2030, SINEC Secure Connect positions Siemens at the forefront of industrial cybersecurity innovation, offering companies a secure, cost-effective, and future-ready solution for increasingly digitalized production environments.
