Alleima Expands Global Footprint with Endox Medical Device Acquisition

Alleima strengthens its division of medical equipment by buying Endox, expanding world production and searching for innovations in Europe and Asia.

Alleima, one of the mainstream development and manufacturing partners to medical device firms, has executed the acquisition of Endox, a Polish operation headquartered in Dettingen. The purchased companies have changed their names to Alleima Dettingen GmbH and Alleima Poland Sp. z o.o. and were opened this week in Germany and Poland.

The acquisition enhances the presence of Alleima in the medical device industry and its operations become more precise in manufacturing devices and developing new materials technologies. Different intelligent components, such as catheter guidewires and stone retrieval baskets, can be made using nitinol and stainless-steel materials through the work of the Endox Company, which was formed in 2001 and is famous in relation to the creation of tools in the fields of urology, gastroenterology, and endoscopy.

"The acquisition is on track with the long-term strategic objective of the company to expand into the medical device sector and increase the product portfolio," stated the president of the Alleima Medical Business unit, Mikael Monsell. Product development will be enhanced and innovation will be driven due to the integration of the technologies at Endox, which include laser cutting and micro plasma welding.

Alleima's healthcare business now extends to the US, Europe, and Asia, with a new plant being built in Penang, Malaysia. The rebranding is expected to provide a customer with a single experience and continue the focus of Alleima on producing quality medical devices and going global.
