Middle East Observatory Advancing Luxury Travel and Tourism Growth

The Middle East Observatory, supported by the UN, promotes luxury travel and tourism, simplifies legislation, augments inter-border cooperation, and encourages international investments.

The UN World Tourism Organization leads the Middle East Tourism Law Observatory in changing the luxury travel and tourism industry in the region. The project will bring about streamlining of border crossing policies, rationalization of law, and interlinking of legal professionals, governments and tourism practitioners.

The Observatory is a dynamic digital platform; thus, it will ensure real-time availability of laws on tourism in the region, case studies, and best practices. Its approach to solving administrative issues and removing competing rules will simplify the operations of the luxury travel and tourism industry as well as increase investor trust.

The Observatory prioritizes interconnected work within the Middle East and between Africa, which significantly contributes to enabling people and tourists to travel freely and become effective communicators in creating luxury tour packages. The lean rules would have been welcome to invest more in the sector and guarantee sustainable growth, which will help the region to establish itself as a major tourist destination for international travelers.

The Observatory is based on experience of similar projects in Latin America and the Caribbean that integrate non-centralized legal organization with regular cooperation at the regional level. It will be based at the UN Tourism Regional Office of the Middle East in enhancing governance, legal harmonization, and cross-country collaboration.

The Middle East Tourism Law Observatory will help create the future of tourism in this region, increasing the amount of luxury travel and tourism assets in the area, reducing legal barricades to serve a greater number of high-end travelers to the region, and improving the overall tourism brand of the Middle East area.
